There's a lot of lessons to be learned in this life.. Some are easy, and learned quickly- and others make take a redo or two.
Sometimes Sariah barks in the backyard, either at the mailman walking by or other neighborhood dogs that are getting rambunctious. As soon as you open the back door to holler at her, she bolts inside and puts herself in her kennel for time out. She KNOWS she's not supposed to be doing it- yet it happens over and over.
I think that is exactly the constant battle of our lives... We constantly do things we know we're not supposed to.. Why? Because maybe it's worth it to sit in time out for 20 minutes and have a little fun barking at people.
Wasn't she just the cutest little puppy? This was at the breeder's.
P.S. It's impossible to stay mad at that face!
I'm not sure, but I definitely can relate to this little pup. She'll bark knowing there's a time out going to happen, and she'll bark when Buck has the shock collar is on, too. Even when a light little jolt is coming her way- she's still gonna do what she's not supposed to do.
My life if FULL of these little lessons, and even if I know something is not right- it takes me a little bit to muster up the courage to actually take a stand. *sigh*
I'm getting a little better- but I think this is going to be a trend for the rest of my life, and how on earth will I teach my children to do the right thing one day? Little by little I suppose, with LOTS of prayers. ;) Until then, I still haven't mustered up the courage to say no to those tempting little cookies for breakfast.

Oh what a beautiful day it's about to be! 80* weather has come back to Southern Colorado!! :)
The snow has officially melted, and all storms they have predicted lately for us to have 'snow' has just been rain. Woo Hoo! I noticed yesterday when I looked out the back door, the grass in our back yard is starting to green.
I love signs of spring. I loathe cold weather by the end of winter... and am always ready for this change.
This spring brings a little more excitement... It means we are all that much closer in a new start to our lives!
Well, I'm off to enjoy this new weather! :) Yay for days off on days like this!!
Hope your Tuesday is just as fabulous!

So... as I am a world behind the times on blogging... I'm going to do my Fill in the Blank Friday on Sunday! :) Its actually part of MannLann5's bandwagon but hey- I'm on it!
*These questions were actually made up by a male blogger she ran into... so that's why the twist! HA! *
1 - Why did you start blogging?
I initially started just to update my family and friends on goings-on in my life. I am especially bad at picking up the phone... Eee. Then I stumbled across one blog after another, and now I love reading them! I update to try to keep others entertained, and keep my life in check.
2 - Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"?
Well... I officially have 2 followers I follow as well... and honestly- theirs are the two blogs I read the most! I can't pick between them..Katie seems like such a sweetheart, strong and just a good 'go-to', always there type of girlfriend. She's from where Buck's family is from-- so there's a little tie. D.A.R seems like a spunky, intelligent, fun gal to add to the mix. She went to college in my hometown, so I feel tied to her, too! Plus, she's the one who motivated me to start running again.
3 - Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are?
I think most of my friends/family would shoot me if I said I needed to lost that extra 10... however, I am perpetually obsessed with staying toned. I run, crunch, whatever it takes... I think it's just the fact that yes, all though there are benefits to aging-- I'm not ready to let my body age. Does this happen to anyone else?
4 - What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you?
I just want to be adored.. I want to feel like I'm the thing here on earth that makes you excited to come home from work. I want to be the thing on your mind when nothing else is, and when everything else is. I want to be your best friend- stay up late laughing with each other, get into water fights in the kitchen, go on all types of new adventures and be content doing absolutely nothing.
5 - OMIT!! It's a little to personal for this lil blog ;)
6 - What was the best year of your life and why?
It used to be junior year of high school. It was just full of fond memories, lots of friends and lots of fun! No stress about moving out/scholarship deadlines/etc. lol but I now choose 2010! I sure hope this year takes the place of the best from the past--- there's no where to go but up! It should just be an exciting year full of starting a new life: a new store somewhere, a new town, new friends, and possibly some other new-s!
7 - Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day.
I actually think it's more fabulous to be a woman ;) but just for fun- I would probably use the worlds corniest pick-up lines as much as I could, eat something super spicy (since my weak womanly taste buds can't handle spice for long!)and pee standing up. yup. I don't count hovering ladies :-0
8 - What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows?
Actually, I think the fact that I don't drink raises a few eyebrows. That and I loooove feeling like a lil kid ordering a shirley temple with extra cherries ;)

I have failed miserably at blogging as of late! I'm actually thinking about it, however, and refuse to go a week with out doing it.. So here I am- day 6 ;)
This has been such a busy week- as it seems is the norm for a lot of my bloggy friends. I think part of the blog-missing is attributed to feeling like what I have to say isn't super important as other things going on in the world around me...
Mrs. P lost the love of her life- and I can't even begin to imagine where she is right now.. My heart goes out to her, and her little Ariana. All I would know how to do would be give her a hug, and help her out around the house. All I can do from afar is send prayers...
Another bloggy friend- Amber had such an eye-opening day where she learned a hard lesson in asking Heavenly Father for something... but missing opportunities to do His work. I feel the same inadequacy I think she went through more often than not.. every time I make a wrong decision, or say something not so nice, or miss an opportunity to befriend someone in need. I think it happens to us all-- but it's how we learn from those lessons is what will matter.
And... my friend Kassie lost her little Stella this week. She was only a year an a half, just what Sariah is coming up on. I couldn't imagine losing her right now either- it would be such a random shock.
Sad sad days out there. In my own world, I have been reading these blogs in awe-- and adventuring in my job. I was able to travel for the first time in this training program- and I loved it. I really realized I love my job, and I'm going to love it for a very long time. I'm very lucky-- and blessed!!
My little Bro-in-Law is on his mission (actually in Colorado), and he got transfered out of our area this week, so Buck and I ventured to grab a picture with him before it was too late. He's such a mini-Buck.
The next day, I was able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with a friend of mine. I guess we can all be missionaries in a sense, and that's the point, isn't it!
All in all, a good week! I will not let another almost week go by without blogging! :) I hope you enjoy your weekend... and you have the moments that matter most happen!
P.S. Thank you Katie--- you're my first mutual follower!! It makes me feel SOOO good! :)

I can't believe tomorrow morning will be Monday again! It seems like 2010 is flying! Does anyone else feel that way?
Here are some running updates! :)
Friday- 3 miles, every 1/4 alternate run/speed walk in about 40 minutes
Saturday- 3 miles, alternate run 1/2, speed walk 1/4; done in about 35 minutes
Sunday- 3 miles, run 3/4, speed walk 1/4 and done in 30 minutes ! (I really pushed myself this time-mainly because of the SNOW!!!)
I figure if I can keep up Sunday's time progress I will be just fine. By Tuesday, I hope to run 1 mile, walk 1/4. By the weekend I should be able to do 3 non-stop. We'll see how that goes, right?? Keep wishing me luck- I appreciate it!
I was toying with the idea of competing in the OKC Memorial Marathon (running a 1/2) - it hits awful close to home since I was born an Okie, and still have family in the OKC area.
Instead I signed up for an 11mile Pueblo to Pueblo run in April and a 10k (Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to the Shrine) in May. The Zoo one may sound easy BUT it really is a terrain run.. In the picture you can see the giraffe is at the zoo (der, I know) and that concrete thing is the shrine. Quite the climb and will need some training!!
I'm so excited that I am staying on track, and excited I have goals to shoot for. The fact that I'm tying up money in the registration fees is quite the motivator, too! :)
HAPPY MONDAY to all!!

Day 1 = Fail!
Nope, I definitely did NOT get out & run on day 1 of setting these fabulous goal.
Day 2 = eh.. maybe I can do this.
Sariah sure made it difficult; but by george- by the end of 3 miles (walk 1/4, run 1/4 - don't judge, at least I'm trying!) she had learned 'heel' and I felt GOOD. Looks good for upcoming day 3. :)
Fill in the Blank Friday is happening once again over at the little things we do. I thought I'd join in and have a 'Feature Friday'. Here are my answers to this weeks questions:
1. The best day ever was our wedding day.Feelings and memories like that are once in a lifetime- and I will cherish them forever!
2. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast because there is yet to be a breakfast food I have not liked. I love eggs, bacon, and sweet things, and when you can get them together-I'm in heaven. Plus, spaghetti doesn't really work during all times of the day like breakfast. Classic.
3. This weekend I work on Saturday, Buck has ACLS class. So I will start the day by *running*, having a good breakfast to follow, and mozy to work around 11. I'm off per usual on Sunday- but sadly Buck has clinicals 6am-6pm. Yay. So Sariah and I will bond, I will rest and Buck will get worn out. We'll have 'our' day on Tuesday.
4. Never in my life have I been to New York/Mt. Rushmore/Yellowstone/Canada/Mexico/Eastern Europe-Asia. Oh its on the list.
5. The only thing better than being at home is laying out in the sun by the water. Mmm...
6. I could really do with some time to do nothing. And get back to the basics- with my hubs, house, friends, etc. and to not feel rushed!
7. The most recent thing I bought myself was these awesome new slingback wedges we got in freight the other day! Super cute, super comfy- definitely worth it!! :)
Well! That's it for now! Thanks for visiting, leave some comments, become a follower---> Show Some Love! Have an AWESOME weekend!

... To procrastinate SO stinkin bad that I am making New Year's Resolutions March 10.
I won't even get into how LATE Christmas was to my parents and in-laws... Its a good thing they have to love us unconditionally, right? Well, I guess what matters is that it got to them.. and that I am actually going to start some resolutions I plan on keeping.
So here goes my *almost* 2nd Quarter New Years' Resolution List:
1. Start Running!!
I have ALWAYS admired runners. The only time I ever ran was to keep up with my childhood bestie whose whole family were runners, or to stay in shape for cheer/dance in high school. I ran on and off through college... but nothing ever stuck. I admire the dedication, routine, and tone runners have. So, my goal... is to start running... Little by little..and get to a point that I HAVE to run each day. How awesome would that be?
2. Find a nice balance in housekeeping between my OCD-ness and laziness.
I feel like I clean clean clean till it's perfect and I am worn out... But I've gotten to the point that when it doesn't stay clean with a husband and puppy, and even myself after late nights at work, I just have zero desire to clean. Then things push me over the edge and I pull one of these numbers:
I hate a dirty house, and I micro-organize things (a place for everything and everything in it's place) - I just need a solution/system for maintaining without wearing myself out! Does anyone out there run into this problem/have any suggestions??
3. Spend less. Save more.
Simple... but takes that dedication I was talking about earlier... *sigh* Buck and I have a goal for how much to have saved before we move this summer, then I have to stick to this lovely regime for the next mountain of savings: down payment for a house of our own-- and to pay off my nasty student loans. I just keep having to tell myself it will be worth it when it's done... and it's really not THAT far away.
4. Be a little bit better of a person every day.
I try to live honestly day to day, treat others in the best way possible and do my job to the best of my ability. I know I could do better- and I know how. I need to integrate that little running routine into reading my scriptures daily, too.
5. Blog more!
I can just see hubs shaking his head at this one.. But Maybe it will help. If I have to write on here every other day, and I start writing about my journeys/struggles.. I think it will help keep me accountable for keeping these resolutions! :)
On that note, I want to invite followers! I am here to make bloggy friends, hear their thoughts on what I'm doing and just have a little support group! :) I will do my best to e-mail you back, comment back... whatever! Thanks for visiting!
