Getting to Know You Sunday

It's been awhile since I participated (thanks to my hiatus in blogging) but here is the Getting to Know You Sunday post thanks to MannLand5! Check her out!

The Q's.

1. If you accidently knick a car in a parking lot..Do you leave a note or do you get the heck out of there?
I'm always scared of backing into someone in a parking lot; scares the crap out of me actually! I guess if it happened, I would be pacing around outside the car waiting/hoping for someone to come out.. and then, once I couldn't wait anymore, I would take pictures (my camera is ALWAYS in my purse) and leave a note on the car!

2. Love your body or plastic surgery?
Love my body.. I'm anti looking like I'm a fake girl- I love my frame and curves!

3. What about your favorite blog(s) continues to drive you back?
I love that they're real. They seem like people I would be friends with if they lived right around the corner, and they're very relate-able to what I have going on in my life. I love that the topics are always interesting enough to keep me distracted for a little while, too! :)

4. What percent of your blog is BS just to make your life seem more interesting than it really is?
0%. I would be lying if I didn't say sometimes I'm just silly (see cookie post!)but that's just me!

5. If you had to give up one type of meat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Anything gamey... Buck hunts, cooks it, I try one bite each time and .. I'm done. He thinks I'm weird, but it has to be a taste you were raised to like; I don't think you can grow accustomed to it.. Maybe- but it probably takes more than 3 years. haha

6. How often to you eat out?
More often than I should! I'm on a dang pregnancy kick that has me craving Arby's curly fries. They just make me feel better, and well, make me happy! Buck and I don't eat out much as a couple- maybe date night in or out every 2 weeks!

7. Skinny jeans or boot cut jeans?
All of the above. ;) Skinnys when I'm in a mood for a little more edge, jeggings for comfort, boot cut as a great fall back for every day use. I wear denim every day- so I have lots of choices!

8. If you caught your spouse cheating would you forgive, divorce, or plan your kill?
It's always different when you're in it- and I would hope that if I were ever (heaven forbid) in the situation, I would be strong enough to forgive OVER TIME. However, it's not a worry for me like I know it is for some women. I'm lucky but I have a good man!

That's it for now! Hope you all have a wonderful week! It's almost Labor Day can you believe it?!

You know what?

I have a love affair... almost on a daily basis.

It is SOOO good.

Never a let down; no disappointments.

Just what I need after a long day, on good days and bad days.

I love my love affair with [({cookies.})]

Oh yes..

Quite the silly post, I know. But I can't help relish in all of the goodness that comes from cookies. ;)

It might be the pregnancy, but I think I've always loved cookies- it just tastes soo much better recently!

Its my aphrodisiac in plastic wrapping, bags, and cookie pans. MMmm!

I love
Chocolate Chip Goodness

Oreo Heaven

Snickerdoodle yum yum

Sugar Cookies- with icing or without, sprinkles or sprinkled with sugar..

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies straight out of the oven..

I think you get the point. I could keep going, I'm sure- after all, a love like this runs deep.

What is your weakness when it comes to baked goods?

Some Days..

There's some days I really just want to post and let my heart out. I always hesitate because I want this to be a positive place, and one where I look for the good in everything; a place where I can feel good and record those good thoughts/memories so I don't have to remember the bad.

But the bad happens to all of us. It's natural.

Husbands and wives fight. It's okay to write about (some of) it.

We can go quite a long time between fights as a couple.. this is definitely an improvement from when we first got married we pushed each other's buttons so bad we had an argument seems like almost every week. Now, maybe once a month is good.

It tears me up inside when we fight.. mainly because fighting is emotionally draining, and it makes me think up every possible thing I'm unhappy about- things I've held in and kept to myself. (Does this sound familiar?)

Icing on the cake always ends up that of course, Buck can never say the right things. He's just not the kind of guy that can or would read a woman and pick up that something is wrong. He's not the type of guy to say I'm sorry (unless you tell him you need an apology), or the kind of guy to come home with flowers 'just because' or for any particular occasion.

I love him, try to love his faults- but sometimes it's tough.

And that's okay.

On a Night Like This...

Buck's on the oh-so-fun night rotation right now in the ICU. Meaning, he's worked 7PM to 7AM last Friday, Saturday, Today, Tomorrow.

I hate these stretches. I work enough as it is, but it SUCKS to see your husband in passing as you're either coming home from work or as your leaving for work. I much more hate going to bed and he's not there.
(Much respect for you military wives; I do believe I'm too much of a baby to be able to survive a deployment. I struggle with 4-5 days of only seeing him in passing!!)

I'm so much a creature of habit, and although I rarely beat him when turning in for the night, it's awful reassuring to get into bed and feel a body somewhere over there. So, hence, tonight I've procrastinated going to bed.

However, 15 to midnight it is and everything; once I turned off the tv and lights, this is what I found:

Just what I needed to lull myself to sleep on a night my mind won't turn off.

What a comfort. Gee, if I had just been quiet for a bit and not been procrastinating I would have had a nice surprise. Someone must be looking out for me.
Do you ever catch yourself kicking yourself for putting something off? Am I ever going to learn not to procrastinate??

*sigh*

The clock is about to turn Monday! Off to bed with me; I do have to rest before work tomorrow!! Happy Monday to all of you!!

Back to School Season

Has anyone noticed we're in full swing of back to school? It seems like the summer FLEW by.. and it's so evident that it's at a close and schools are starting up next week.

I know I'm hyper-sensitive because I work retail, but there's always been one thing I don't understand. It's the explosion of spending families do for this occasion. My mom was a teacher, and the only type of 'bts' shopping I got was for school supplies. My parents were more likely to buy me tennies before the start of a sports season, tons of clothes at Christmas and after (hitting up the sales), and then on my birthday when I got older and said that's what I wanted my present to be. So I never experienced the go spend a day shopping; buy 5-6 pairs of jeans, 10-15 shirts/sweaters/layering pieces, 2-3 pairs of shoes, etc.

Did you ever get to do back to school shopping like this?
Are you going to do back to school shopping like this with your kids one day?

Just a thought as I go get ready for another BTS Saturday! Hope you all enjoy your Saturdays!

Part 3: You Ready for This??

Alright- I get it. I'm not that funny. No comment love from Part Deux. Hopefully some will come from this post -hint hint-

Part 3 of our new adventure and life in North Dakota... I'm Pregnant.

Yup.

17 & 1/2 weeks. 18 this Monday. Can you believe it?

Here's 12 week ultrasound pictures. :)

Don't be sad I didn't tell you earlier, bloggy friends. We didn't tell family till we were 12 weeks, I didn't tell my employer till I was 16 weeks, nor my employees! So lots of people are JUST finding out. I might post an 18 week belly shot -maybe- next Monday, but most people say they can't tell I'm prego yet.. I've barely just started getting round.
So! That's it. Part 3. That's all she wrote, and I'm sooo excited this is where our life has led us and for the adventure ahead.

P.S. We find out the sex Sept 8! :)

Part Deux- This is GOOOOOD!

Ok-because I know you all have been waiting in suspense to read this one. ;)

I think I'll drag it out a little longer... you'll just have to wait for Part 3. Gotta save the best for last and make this blog worth reading, right??

So after moving from Colorado to North Dakota- I had the weekend to get settled in our new apartment, and I packed up and went to company headquarters in Nebraska for a week of Manager's Meetings.

Soo much fun, I know I've said this before but I really do love the people I work with.
Here are a couple pictures from Manager's Meetings.

Me, Krista and Marci- Krista you've seen before (love her!) and Marci is a mutual friend of ours, an assistant manager from a store in Denver.. We busted out laughing every meal we ate together!

Kelly and I went out to manage about 2 weeks apart. She's in Texas now, but was in Colorado with me! Funny girl!

Last but not least: Me, Alex and Emily. Alex took a store in Colorado Springs right before I got my store in North Dakota. Emily... Oh Emily. She trained both of us- our area manager out of Denver. She is the spunkiest, one of the most intelligent and well spoken ladies I've known. She taught me so much and always believed in me- and has known me since I was a freshman in college starting with the company as a part time employee. I seriously love her!

It's awesome to have a mentor like that- do any of you have mentors that have actually worked out for you in the long haul? I know I've read some blogs that talk about mentors not turning out ideally, but how about those that do? They're such awesome people- they deserve a lil shout out! ;)

After manager's meetings, I had a weekend to rest up, get to know my new stomping grounds a little and then the action started the following Monday. Busy Busy Busy from there on out. It was seriously a whirl-wind month of work/sleep/work/sleep. But I love it. And that is where my time went over the last 2&1/2 months.

Ok- seriously. Part 3 is the best. Stay tuned!! :D TOMORROW!!!!

How much do I suck at blogging?!?

Apparently A LOT.

It's been 2&1/2 months since I last posted. How friggin crazy! Thank you to those who sent me e-mails just to say hi, and see how I was doing. I'm so glad I have the few friends I've made through here.. you guys rock!

So- where have I been?
I think I'll break it up into parts to tell the story..
Today will be Part 1. Tomorrow Part 2, and so on. Can't you contain your excitement?
(seriously- they'll get more and more exciting as we go!) :)

So.. when I last blogged, I was up for a promotion at work and had traveled to Sioux Falls, SD to endure a week long interview.

I got the job. And we moved across the country.

Here's home.

I am now in full swing of managing my own store. And a brand new one at that. I'm so stinkin pumped. I've never worked so hard in my entire life- but I love it. It seems like when you really love what you do, the hours you put in don't seem to matter.

The stress however- oh man. That's what keeps me going. It's challenge after challenge, and it makes my brain tick to try to figure out how to solve each one and move on to the next. It is so cool though, to see people get trained the way you like, soak up what you're teaching them, and really flourish into the best they can be. That is the 2nd most rewarding part about my job.

The first being how happy we can make each customer that walks through the door. It's awesome to have regulars after the 2nd week your open, and even into the 8th week, they're still regulars. It's amazing to look around your store and see people continually having a good time, finding what looks best on them- and loving what they buy, and for them to all leave happy.

I seriously love what I do, and have never had a time in my life everything is soo right. :)

Part 2 tomorrow! Happy Sunday!!
