Military Wives

I know I've been following a few of your blogs for quite some time now, and there's a good handful that are military wives. I've always had a great respect for what you all go through with the deployments and never ending support you have for your husbands and for each other. I've admired the strength, and the friendships you all form no matter where you are.

The older you get, the harder it is to make friends. You don't have school to meet girls, and when you're in management, or a supervisory position of any sort- you can't just hang out with your employees... There's gotta be a division somewhere. So, I could grab lunch with only 2-3 of them- and be careful of the balance of work/personal relationships... sometimes hard, sometimes stressful.

Since moving to ND, I've made tons of acquaintances, but only maybe one 'friend'. A gal who shops me a lot invited me last night to a jewelry party. There were 12-15 other women there including myself and my friend. All of them were military wives, like the friend I made in my shop. (We are in a base town, if you haven't picked up on that ;) )

It was a stinkin blast.

They were all sooo friendly, and I felt like I fit right in (even though I'm not military!) I don't know what I expected, it's not like being a military wife makes you part of a cool clique; but I was just pleasantly surprised to feel like I had been friends with these women for years already! :)

Next Friday night is girls night! Most of them are meeting up at a nice restaurant in town, and have invited me. I'm so going. :)

Yay for new friends... and Yay Military Wives- for being amazing!

My army girl friends will be with me for the rest of my life, even though I have only known them for 2-3 years. The bonds we form are fast and furious and are hard to break! Glad you are getting in on it :)
